So, i've moved about half of this blog-- the rest shall be relocated soon. Here's the link to where it all will reside in the future:

Looking forward to serving your blogging needs better through one mediocre blog rather than with 2 not-even-mediocre-and-rarely-updated blogs.

Some pictures from the day:

As you can see, some people seem to feel like they are right at home in a courtroom.

Here we are after the fact, looking pleased with ourselves...

Some people can't abide smooching under any circumstances.

Our version of wedding cake (cheesecake-- which was delicious!) One was chocolate, and the other citrus. YUM

My lovely lady lumps (and 2 cheesecakes)-- check it out!

I have found a dress, still need shoes. I'm getting married in a black cocktail dress! I never would have thought it possible, when I were a girl on my father's knee, dreaming about my marriage to my One True Love. Of course, I didn't know I'd be contemplating hay bales as seating, either.

My sister is in a friend's wedding and the bride is contemplating what music she might have playing for her procession. Top choice so far for her is "Isn't she lovely?" by Stevie Wonder. Which reminds me too much of bad singing on American Idol, but it did give me pause to consider: If I were able to have music at our wedding, what would it be?

I think Tom would like Pinball Wizard, or maybe Crazy Red Baron, since he likes the Who and war-like things. ha.

We asked Jamie to design individualized postcards for our family members. These postcards were the invitations to the actual wedding and a small family get-together afterward. He designed many different cards-- he did repeat themes in some instances, but every card has it's own unique flair. Here are some of my favorites!

word of our wedding has gotten out in the koala world

He felt we needed added mystery about the proceedings, and thus, the many question marks

Naturally, we invited sea-faring folk to the wedding...

My personal favorite: even the sun wants an invitation. Who knew?

We have plenty more-- keep an eye out for future posts.

For your entertainment, I give you a list of things I still haven't done before the wedding:

1. we have not found wedding rings yet. We have a lead! This lead is: there are jewelry stores in Canton. Tom has done his part, though-- we have identified his ring size! Oddly enough, it is the same as his shoe size. I wonder what his hat size is?
2. I have no idea what I'm wearing for the ceremony, aside from a shawl that I am trying to knit. Tom is firm on this: I must dress up. No beach wear for me. If I am unsuccessful at getting the shawl finished in time, I guess I can wear the sock I am halfway finished with, in this color. I had hopes of wearing something I made, see? I know, go buy a dress, Karen!
3. We haven't figured out what we are going to eat, and how we are going to make it. Tragically, we forgot to move the grill with us so we are either going to have to move Tom before he is actually ready, or find a way to get a gas grill to travel 3 hours in a car. on the plus side, if Tom has to finagle it into the car, it should at least smell good. Mmmm. Hamburgers. I miss you, grill.
4. I am totally panicked about seating. It may come down to an unending game of musical chairs. Be alert if there's music playing when you get to the party.
